2nd year English majors in IIIB’s 11 & 12 classes met Japanese language students at Mount Hood Community College (MHCC) to have a language exchange for the first 50 minutes of class time. This was the second weekly meeting.
Students at SGU and MHCC could enjoy meeting each other for the second time and asking each other questions about their favorite foods, hobbies, hometown, and school life.
Each week students at SGU prepare for a new topic to discuss in English with their language partners in Gresham, Oregon. The meeting was 50 minutes with the first half being English communication practice and the second half being Japanese practice. At the halfway mark (~25 minutes), the conversation changes to Japanese and our 2nd year students can help MHCC students with their Japanese communicative skills.
